Actually, my son was strictly bf'ed also, and he got constipated. My doctor let it go for 9 freaking days!! I started calling him around day 4, then day 7, and finally on day 9 I told him he was passing gas, crying, trying to poop etc and nothing would come out. Sure enough he was constipated. Bf;ed babies can get constipated also!! I ended up having to use an infant suppository on him, and in 15 minutes he produced the most nasty and foul bowlel movement ever. His deffication habits were something I had to keep a close eye on regardless of exclusive breast feeding.

There are some leg movements the you can help him with to get things moving. Like folding his legs gently up to his belly (helps move gas) and moving his legs in a bicycle motion while he is lying on his back.

If you are concerned in any way, call your pediatrician. Let them know he is passing gas, and if he is trying to have a bowel movement but can't.

I wouldn't worry.

Breastmilk is very easy for babies to digest and absorb. Some can digest their mother's milk so well they can go a week, or even two, between poops.

My baby is a month plus and yes I am doin exclusive breastfeeding. I dont think his uncomfortable except the normal baby stretching and grunting. Yes he wets his diapers alot and tend to fart alot to. Lol

How old is your baby?

If you're exclusively breastfeeding, and your baby is still wetting lots of diapers, I wouldn't worry. Breastfed babies can go a really long time between poops.

If you're giving formula or solids your baby could be constipated. Does your baby seem uncomfortable?
