My son has ALWAYS been a big baby. At his 2 year checkup he was 37 inches tall weighed 37 lbs. His doctor said he was bigger than any other kid his age lol and that it was perfectly fine. He is almost 2 1/2 years old and weighs 39 lbs. Hes not chubby in any way. Hes just solid. His daddy and my brother were the same way, and both of them are now tall & thin. MOST babies stay around the same weight from 1yr to 3 yrs old. So dont worry. Its very nromal.

my son is 20 lbs and 29.5 inches tall at 15 months. He's not eating good mostly anything with carb but fruits. He just started taking organic soymilk since he's allergic with regular milk. I am still nursing him up to this time coz i'm not sure if it's good to wean him when he's so little and picky eater. I am very worried about his weight issue and plan to see a pediatrician. Any advice here would be appreciated.

My daughter was 21lb when she was 7mths old, i dread to think what weight she is now at 9mths as she feels really heavy but when she weighed in at 21lbs 2mths ago the health visitor wrote in my baby record book that she was a healthy happy thriving baby so it can't be a bad thing :)

My son is 8mths and weighs 22lbs. All babies, all people in fact, are different. As long as he's healthy and happy and your doctor isn't concerned, no worries.

Sounds normal. My son was 20 (21?) pounds at around 9 months and 25 pounds around 21 months.... a pound heavier than his cousin who's 11 months older than he is..... All kids are different. :)

My daughter is 15 lb at 6 months and i DONT think she will gain more than 1 lb a month from here till one yr so I think your daughter is RIGHT on track ask your doctor her percentile,The percentile is how many kids her age are her size and weight.

I think its normal. All babies are diff. I have a lil girl and when she was 7 months she weighed 17 lbs. Her doctor said she was just fine and that he liked chunky babies. She is almost 2 and is still kinda chunky but as soon as she started walking she started to slim down.

My seven year old grew like a weed. He was 6 pounds 7 ounces at birth, but was 18 pounds at 3 months of age. He was just a really big boy. By the time he was a year old, he looked like he was 3. He eventually slowed down after the toddler years. Now he's average weight and height for his age. My other three children didn't grow near that fast. I think every child is different and there usually is no need to be concerned.

My son is 16 months and is 22 lbs. so that goes to show that all babies/toddlers grow differently. :) I'm sure your baby is just fine.

My doctor said that at six months your baby should double their birth weight and by their first birthday they should be triple. That being said you cannot compare breastfed to formula fed babies. Formula fed babies will weigh more, but it will even out after the first year.

I was concerned at first that my daughter was so much lighter than her same aged playmates. At her nine month check in Ella was 17lbs 7oz. My friends daughter was 23lbs by 6 months! Then after talking to my doctor and finding this out, I feel so much better,

Remember, all babies grow at different rates. If your concerned talk to your doctor.

My son weighed 26 lbs at his 12 month check up. He was born big so his weight was good, considering he weighed 9 1/2 lbs when he was born.

all babys are different :) both of mine were roughly 20 ponuds when they turned 1 my oldest was sick until she was 15 months, the other was concidered heavy. my nephew was 22.5 pounds at his 6 month check up, all babys grow different just like all are born different weights and lengths. people seem to think theres a majic number to go by when it comes to babies, truth is if your baby is healthy, happy, eating, going potty and moving right, dont worry about it :)

weight is not an issue at this age! they need the extra fat to line the axons that connect his nerves! when your child starts walking (especially running) he will shed a a few pounds. your baby is fine. =)

My daughter will be 6 months next week, and she weighs 18 lbs, and the doctor said she is average.

my son is now 18 months and weighs 30 pounds....hes not fat, just a big boy....and my little girl is 3 and weighs 24 pounds..she very teeny tiny like me....... so i wouldnt worry too much about it....once they hit their growth sperts, the weight tends to drop...

My son is 10 months (8 corrected) and he weighs 18.5 lbs. He is also 28.5 inches long. Your baby's weight is fine.

They definately grow at different rates. My first son was 24lbs at 10mo and my second was 20lb at 10mo. I think my second son eats more than my first. My doctor always said alittle extra weight is better than being underweight. As soon as the walking started my first slimmed down.

What does your Dr. say? In general most babies are 20 lbs around 12 months....but it depends on the family genes and what your feeding him aswell. My daughter was 20lbs at 14 months but she has a very tall skinny Dad. I have a friend who's lil one is from a short stalky family and her baby was 25lbs at a year.....my daughter is 25lbs at 19 months. Usualy chubby babies start loosing weight once they get mobile. So I don't think you have reason to worry.

all babies are different. How long is your baby? When my son was younger he was on 'the heavy side' then he was 'too thin' now hes 'normal'. Everyone grows at different rates and are different sizes. As long as they are growing developmentally, physicaly, and are happy I wouldnt worry. Good luck!

When my son was 10 months old he weighed in at 25lbs, he is now 17 months and still weighs about the same. Give your baby time and the weight will start to even out. When they start to walk you will really see a difference.
