I just started on a routine for my son at night its taken 4 days, and some frustration on both parts -but its finally going smoothly. I started noticing my son got sleepy somewhere between 7 & 8, so I decided to shoot for 7pm. I start at 5 with solids, then he gets a bath, then he finishes his bottle, then we move to nursery for story (around 6pm), sometimes he likes to drink some more, We say our prayers/let tummy settle (all this is in a low lit room with relaxing music playing), I lay him down b/w 6 & 6:30, and stay with him until he's asleep. The 1st 3 nights he protested - but tonight it was awesome :) Oh, I dont know how you feel about this, but my son used to sleep in my bed so I climb into his crib with him and cuddle till he falls asleep. lol I had to reinforce the crib just in case. Hope this helps.

Are you speaking about nighttime sleep or napping? In either case, the best thing to do is to set up a sleep routine. Basically, do the same things, in the same order, every time you want her to go to sleep. Eventually, she'll start to clue in that those events mean that it's time to sleep, and she'll follow suit. For nighttime, a lot of parents will do bathtime, story, bottle/breast, and lullaby. If you're consistent with it, then she'll start following your pattern.
