she is only having running nose. no fever. she is eating solids. but fluid intake is very less. that's why i'm worried about. i gave her a bath this morning.

My son has had several colds that lasted four to five days. We took baths. Just don't let her catch a chill. We also rubbed unkers salve on the bottom of his feet and his chest. It seemed to help. I avoid meds as much as possible unless it seems serious or like it just will not improve. Kids today are becoming so resistant to antibiotics.I find that scary.

Is she running a fever or just a runny nose? What are her symptoms?

Yes you can give her a bath. Often that will help get the mucous moving. Also a cool mist humidifier in her room will help break up congestion.

If its just regular cold symptoms then you don't need to go to the doctor. However if there is a loss of appetite, if she's not drinking enough fluid it having enough wet diapers you probably want to take her in, or if there is a fever associated with it that you haven't been able to break. A bath would probably make her feel a little better, even if it's just temporarily.
