My baby likes to bite others

Hi all. I need some advice please. My one and a half year old has gotten into the stage of biting people. He has two older brothers and I never had a biting issue with them,so I'm not quite sure how to handle this. I want him to stop biting people,so does anyone have any suggestions on how to deter him from biting others? Thank you so much for any advice.

Babies bite for different reasons, being one and a half, frustration of not being able to communicate wants and needs would be one reason. You need to find his triggers eg, if he bites playing with others he wants what they have or they try to take what he has....teething can also bring on biting. Do not bite him back, negative punishment just enforces the negative behaviour. Try and figure out when he does it and just try and anticipate it and step in to stop it, the more you are on to it and distract him the sooner this phase will be over. One thing i used to do was explain what teeth are for, eating and chewing our food, not hurting our friends. :) good luck
