Hi I'm new on here and I am having a hard time getting my almost 9 month old to eat! She's been exclusively breastfed since birth and when I introduced solids like rice cereal and baby food she did great! For two months that is. At 8 months she stopped taking baby food completely. I was distraught because I kept getting told that she needs to be on a healthy diet! Well I did everything I could think of. I bought all organic veggies and fruits and tried to purée them. That didnt work so I cut them up into very small bites and she ate it all! Now a month later she refuses to eat anything! She still breastfeeds but will not accept solids! The only thing she will take is bananas and those gerber puffs. I feel like I'm failing somewhere because she no longer eats!I should mention she has her bottom teeth and I think is in the process of cutting her top two teeth. Maybe it's just teething or am I doing something wrong? I'm a first time mom and I have no idea what to do!

Food before one is just for fun, so breastmilk is a balanced diet and really all she needs.

Sometimes when they're teething they aren't hungry. But it shouldnt be more than a day or so. I would schedule a visit with your peditrician. Also- have you been mixing her purees with breastmilk? My daughter really liked that!

Thank you Amy! I can relax a little after reading that! I was thinking she was going to start losing weight or I just wasn't doing something right!

Teething always gives my baby an upset tummy. It really sounds like you're doing everything you can and paying attention to your child's cues! Good job momma!

Thank you! I will schedule am appointment tomorrow! I haven't mixed breastmilk but I will surely give it a shot! I did not mention this in the post and I don't know why but would teething make their stomach upset as well? She seems to have really loose stool now.
