The day I delivered my daughter the father was sitting on the couch with his laptop the whole time I was in pain and going through a stressful long drawn out delivery. Doctor's had to come in an assist the other doctor because my daughter was having complications coming out on her own. He was still sitting in his seat until the doctor told him at his baby be born. I was so exhausted I couldn't even be mad at the time. But my mother was upset and she began to bring my memory back on how things were on that day. I was mostly hurt and embarrassed that anything could be more important than the birth of his baby girl especially internet on laptop. How would you have reacted to this?

My husband had his Nintendo DS and was playing a game, he did end up stopping to help me a little (hold my leg back and offer support). I expected him not to want anything to do with delivery, he has always told me it was icky and he didn't even want to be there. I think that if he isn't going to be supportive, he doesn't need to be there.

I would have kicked his sorry ass to the curb.
I would have broke up with him in the delivery room! A computer!? Really.
I have no paitence with that amount of selfishness, immaturity, and stupidity. That moment wasnt about him. It was about you, and the birth of his child. How can he justify his actions?
A moment like that is when you see a persons true colors, and reflects the kind of parent he probably is.

Why would you let him get away with disrespecting you and your daughter like that? I get you were tired with the birth, but even after? Have you discussed it with him?

Sorry, when I read this I get very emotional. I hope everything works out.
