He doesn't actually need any food yet. The breast milk or infant formula really has all the calories and nutrients he needs til a year. It's good to introduce food, but don't worry if he's not quite ready yet.

Thanks for your advice! It has really given me a big relieve. For solid, I have tried to introduce it but he just don't want it. He prefers his food to be a bit lose. He will throw up each time I give him solid. I just hope he will change. He will be 7 months in few days.

If his doctor isn't concerned... don't worry about it. He is likely growing just the way he was meant to grow. He should still be getting all of his calories and nutrients from breast milk or infant approved formula, but it is fine to start a bit of solids for taste and learning experience now. There is nothing to be done to 'fatten' him up... just feed him his milk whenever he is hungry. As long as he's growing and thriving... he's fine.

Hi Esperanza,
I think that if his checkup went well and the doctor wasn't concerned about his weight, and he is a healthy active baby, then you shouldn't concern yourself with his weight. At his age there really isn't anything you can do to put weight on him. What is important is how healthy he is. I know alot of other babies his age can be chubby, but if he is healthy and active and happy then that isn't what he was meant to be. Don't worry yourself with it and don't let anyone tell you he should be anything other than what he is.
