My baby seems so soothed by a bottle at night

It's hard to believe it's truly bad for his teeth. Otherwise I brush them; they look great.

Brushing teeth AFTER the bottle is fine. Brushing BEFORE the bottle is not. The natural sugars in the milk eat away at the enamel and over time decay the teeth. It is not something you see on the teeth until the teeth start to rot. Yes, this can happen and can cause permanent damage. I once knew a 3 yr old that most of her baby teeth had rotted away and the decay had already gotten into her gums and affected her permanent teeth. So even though it may seem so soothing it can be VERY dangerous.
