At 10 months old I would not expect them to be waking 2-3 times. Make sure feeding is not just a habit and waking is not due to hunger but due to habit. If he is getting enough food during the day he should not need any in the middle of the night. How do you put him to bed? Does he fall asleep to having a bottle? If so, then he has to learn how to put himself to sleep without bottle as that right now is the only way he knows how. Everyone (adults included) wakes several times during the is called a sleep cycle. For most of us adults we go right back to sleep, but for babies if a habit has formed (bottle feeding, rocking, etc.) then that is the only way they know how to go back to sleep. So you have to teach him how to self soothe without the bottle.
