Is this normal? My baby is nearly 4 weeks old and will not sleep longer than 2 hours, I've tried everything, rocking her, putting her in a swing, nothing works. I'm trying the bath, bottle and bed routine now (midwife says a bit too young to start that yet) so every 2 hours she takes 2oz and I can't get her to drink anymore even after winding her, changing her.

I'm going out of my mind as I'm not sleeping. The next day I still can't do anything as she is such a light sleeper. Even washing the pots wake her up, I've been doing house work as normal to get her used to the sounds and noises then she just lays in crib, then she gets overly tired! I'm going out of my mind is this normal for a 3 week old? Thank you

Totally normal. Some babies need to be fed more frequently than others. Just remember that they only have little bellies and therefore can only hold so much milk at any one time, so need to feed more frequently. You need to try to get sleep when baby is sleeping, including during the day. I know it isn't easy, but it can be done. Also, when your partner is home, see if he can take over for a bit and allow you some time to grab a few hours sleep!

She will gradually sleep for longer periods of time, but for now, this is normal.
