I have a 9 month old baby and he will not sleep through the night. He wakes up about 4 or 5 times. I have tried just about everything i could think of.. from making sure he has a full belly before bed (baby food mixed with cereal and a bottle with formula and cereal) bath before bed playtime just about all day and keeping him up later. He wakes up for good around 7:30 am and takes a nap around 11 am sleeps for a half hour or so thats the only nap he really takes. I need help. This isnt my first child but it is my first time doing things on my own. Without the father in the babies life. Any advice?

And your little one can do this up to the age of two. Babies do not work on our schedules. We work around theirs. You can not expect an infant to sleep all night. Its not in their makeup to do so. They wake up a lot at night for various reasons: dirty diapers, feedings, something woke them up, sick, want to be held. Its a never ending cycle. It will get better in time. Welcome to Motherhood.

I have two daughters one 12 and other one 3, they could not be more different. First one went to bed from 7p to 7a, was great! Second one did the same thing, she would get up every 3 hours throughout the night, made me crazy! I found even though your not suppose to do it that letting her sleep with me was the only way to have her sleep all night. She would wake up next to me and I'd have a bottle next to me on stand by and I'd rub her back and give bottle to her and she would go right back to sleep. I too would try everything and anything like you with nothing changing. She stopped needing me by her when she was one. Stress plays a huge factor in how our babies act and sleep. They can sense when we are over whelmed and burnt out so is suggest trying to center yourself to, I was a single parent for five yrs of my first daughter and know how over whelming everything is on your own, hope you get over this little bump in the rd with your baby and remember they grow up too quick and nothing last forever. Enjoy the happy times and stay strong for the kids!
