Children will go through growth spurts at that age, one month they will eat like birds and then the next month they may eat everything in site. If you are concerned about the weight loss, perhaps offering him several snacks and or supplements like insure for kids throughout the day. just make every calorie count, try to avoid processed food and high sugar snacks. Make up several small baggies or Tupperware containers that can easily be set out for him, make sure they contain veggies like baby carrot sticks, peanut or almond butter with celery, string cheese Sticks or slices of apples with cheese slices or peanut butter or almond butter. Get him involved in contructing liitle snacks like using various cookie cutters to cut shapes into foods he likes. Dont expect him to eat on a regimen like breakfast, lunch and dinner, have him graze throughout the day. Another thing you could involve him in is creating super smoothies, there are so many recipes out there and you can add a scoop of protein, you. Can buy protein powders that are tasteless, cant even tell its added. Experiment! This is not abnormal behavior for a toddler,if you are still. concerned, take him to the pediatrician, to set your mind at ease.
