I just found out that my child will be the only boy in his kindergarten class should I be worried? Its a private school and I really like the school and all the teachers too! The class is very small 3 girls and my son making it four.... has anyone had experience with this type of situation?

Thank you,

if there are only 4 kids in the class it would not be unusual to only have one of a particular gender. If you like the school and feel it is a good fit for your son... there wouldn't be anything to worry about. Do they have recess w/ some of the other grades to have more time socializing w/ a few more kids?

I went to a small school as well... we had 16 in our 10th grade class and only 4 were boys, so... more kids, but same ratio. Oh... and I was the only girl in 5th grade too... but we had combined classrooms (5/6 together) and there were five 6th grade girls.

I would not be concerned. Our school is very small and often there is only one girl or boy in a class; the current 5th grade has just one girl.
