After 10 years it's really becoming frustrating with my daughter waking up at 4 o'clock in the morning no matter what time I put her to bed . And when she wakes up she is unbelievably rude to the rest of the household running around screaming yelling laughing so loud just does not care that there are others still trying to sleep . When asked to be quiet she always mocks you if you tell her to hush she says hush she always has a mean comment she was diagnosed six years ago with a intellectual disability with a minor speech delay there are so many things she seems to understand which makes it more frustrating and so confusing as to why she does this when she is home with me . Her and her brother visit their dad every other weekend they've always been very respectful to him both the do what he says and asks but yet when I ask of certain things and try to do certain things it seems impossible to get done

I am willing to try anything. I can try that again it's been awhile. I really am not sure why she does. But basically since I can remember she has done this and she is ten. I just can't seem to figure out why she wakes so early and always has. And even if I put her to bed later she is still up way to early. It wouldnt be so bad if she would quietly play or watch tv.

Maybe if you plan ahead the night before and tell her if wake up early you may watch a movie until a certain time. Write down the time she may wake others in the house up. If she disobeys then she loses a privilege later in the day. Why does she wake so early?

Oh ok that would make sense why i can't see them. I do time out. Or take things away she likes to do. I have a bunch toys things for her to do. And she refuses to play or do any of it other than make sure she wakes everyone. I will try and look into some more stuff and see if I can get counseling. I just don't know what else to do.

The responses you can't see are from a girl who has been trolling this site for weeks now... and those comments were removed.

You 'should' definitely qualify for mental health assistance, but I don't know about resources available in your area.

What are her consequences for disturbing the family at 4am? Have you tried giving her activities to do in her room at that time?

I'm sorry... if you can't get any help I don't really know what else to suggest.

I'm still trying to figure this thing out says I have a few comments but can only see the one. So I'm sorry if I do not respond to all. This is for dove though. No we are not in any type counseling at the moment. My child's doctor said she/we didn't need it. I receive small amount of disability benefits and we are in state health care. Which they are very picky about what I ask to have covered it took forever to get her hearing aid covered.

It sounds like your family could benefit from some counseling. I am assuming w/ the diagnosis that she IS receiving services? Are you involved in some counseling or support groups as well? If not I urge you to reach out to the professionals for some help in knowing how best to handle the situation.
