Retention of information is very hard on her. She's always complained about not being able to focus during class. She has a very hard time with test taking. She is failing math and a computer class. She will be taking summer school classes. I'm waiting to hear from her guidance counselor.

What frustrates her the most? Time constraints, workload, retention of information? How are her grades, is she actually not passing? Would dropping a class and taking it over the summer be an option? Medication is a tough decision for most parents. Does she have any relaxation techniques?

Hi Sarah! She has an I.E.P since 2nd grade. The only modification that she has now is in math. She is in a class with the teacher and teacher assistant. My problem is with her frustration. She is giving up! She feels that whatever she does she fails. I've tried, several times talking with her doctor to see if they would put her on something (just during school hours) to help her with focusing but, they won't. I don't want her on mess either but, if it would help with her concentration and help her with focusing. I'm all for it. She needs to feel like she's making progress.

What has been done to help her? Does she have any modifications in her school routine to make learning less stressful.
