My daughter :)

My daughter will be 5 in 2 months. She is 4'3 and 72 pounds. She has a large appetite, but we eat healthy balanced meals with maybe a once a month treat at McDonalds, or pizza. She is in soccer and ballet, active smart and happy... anyone else have a child that size? Her doctor says she is fine. All her life she has been "off the charts" as far as height and weight go.. any other moms out there with kids this size? Should I worry?

I am sorry 72lbs is heavy for a 5 year old to be carting around. My daughter was a 10lb baby when born and very tall. She is now 3years 7 months and weighs 38lbs. Your child is nearly double that. May be it is not what she is eating but the sheer amount that she is eating. Try and reduce full fat dairy products, and let her drink only sugar free squashes and flavoured water or better still water. The fact that she is active is great. If you dont think she eats that much then I would take her to the doctor and have her thyroid checked. It is better to deal with this now then let her get to teenage years and feel awkward.
