Jodi's right. She's 8 and it will take some time and consistency... and even then she may still resort to yelling at you occasionally. Simply walk away from her or send her to her room until she talks to you calmly. It sounds like you are doing the right thing, but remember... you are BOTH human and humans don't always behave the way we should even when the consequences of our actions are unfavorable.

I don't think you managed to finish your post. However, what consequences does she have for shouting? My 8 year old does not get heard when she shouts, and is told to go to her room until she can come back and talk to me like a human being. If she refuses, she loses privileges (she hates losing her TV time).
