My son (7 years old) and daughter (5 years old) were playing In our back yard. We have a stone walkway that goes through from house to garage. I was in the garage when I heard her start crying I ran over and they had managed to get one of the stones up and it landed on her toe. Now it is turning black and blue under the nail. Now I know from dropping things on my own feet it hurts. Should I take her in or just keep her resting and icing it? Can they do anything for a toe?
my son has done similar things to himself but has never complained about it the way she is. I feel terrible for her.

That's awesome, Kalla. I'm so glad she won't lose the nail! That could have been a lot more painful ;-)

She needs to be seen by a doctor. If she loses the nail, which she could, there is a chance of infection.

I have friends that have broken toes and they have had plaster casts. It's always best to take them to the doctor to see of there are and broken bones or fractures.
