my daughter coming to live with me, her father

My daughter has lived with her mom since birth, she is now 12 years old. I have her every other weekend for visits. The mother and I, after many years of different parenting skills and opinions are now in a very communicative stage in life. I am happily marriage and my wife and I have considered having her come live with us full time. We both would love the opportunity to offer her some of the experiences, parenting and development skills we feel she is missing out on. She has a sister, age 8, different father, not in the picture. I would appreciate any advice on how to approach this topic. My gut feeling is that she will say no for all the wrong reasons. I would like for once for her to see the opportunities. Thank you!

You only have her every other weekend. How about revisiting the custody agreement with a lawyer and seeing if you can increase the time? Start there. I would hate to see her taken away from her little sister. It is clear that you think you would be a better parent than the bio mom, but start slowly. Have you even asked the 12 year old what she would like to do?
