My daughter has been pulling her hair out, what should I do?

My daughter is almost 5, she was molested a little over a year ago and she has just stopped therapy because of school, and because the therapist thought she was doing really good with her behavior. But this hair pulling thing is new. She used to twist it and get it into knots but it wasn't actually coming out of her head. She has a few very thin spots on the right side of her head where you can see her scalp. Any suggestions?

It sounds as if she might be doing this as a comfort measure. Hair pulling can be a sign of anxiety. I would call the therapist and discuss this new symptom with her, also talk to you doctor.

I went yesterday to get her hair cut really short. My grandmother is friends with a beautician, she said that was the best thing to do. Also I am taking her to the doctor today.
