My daughter has only grown an inch and a half since birth. She's 6 months old. Should I be concerned

Yeah, I haven't been bringing up the concern about her height because I wasn't concerned until I measured her yesterday. Her father and I are both very small people so that could have something to do with it. I called to talk to a nurse today just waiting for a call back. I also called to see if I could get her in earlier for her 6 month well check but could only get in 3 days earlier....better than nothing I guess.

If they are concerned about her weight at her well-checks, then I would point out your concern with her height as well. Your health nurse/doctor/pediatrician may be focusing so much on their concern with the weight that they haven't noted the height as much.

As Jodi said most babies, even at the lower end of the scale, normally have grown much more than 1 1/2 inches in that time frame.

Your health practitioner will take into account whether you or your daughter's father are on the slim/short side, so if they are expressing concern about her weight now you need to keep seeing them regularly for monitoring and bring up any other concerns (such as height) that you have about her development.

Nope, you have every right to be concerned. Have a talk to your pediatrician about it. It just seems like a very small growth in that time. I am not an over protective mum at all, and I'd be asking a lot of questions on that. Especially as she is having weight issues as well. Good luck!

Yes, I see one regularly. They only weigh her at her well checks and she hasn't had one for 2 months and she was doing fine. They've been more concerned with her weight cause she's had a lot of weight problems as well. She's off the charts completely. She doesn't go in until the 29th of this month but I'm planning on rescheduling it for late this week or early next week because of the height issue. I'm a new mom so I don't want to seem over protective. Thank you so much for answering this.

Do you see a health nurse or doctor or pediatrician regularly? At this stage in their lives, you generally would have seen a health professional a few times...Are they expressing concern? I know I would be extremely concerned. Even a 3rd percentile born baby should have grown at least 5-6 inches in that time just to remain on the same curve on the charts.
