Hi, my daughter is 8 years old and has suffered with bad eyesight since birth. She suffers from browns syndrome amongst other problems. For example: stigmatisum in both eyes, lazy eye and very poor eyesight in both eyes. For many years she underwent treatment with patching atropine and a blurred lense in her glasses and did gain some sight in her bad eye (left) until 9 months ago when all progress stopped and was taken off treatment. I took her for an orphoptic appointment today and was told that her visual accuracy in her right eye is 0.06 and her left 1.06/0.86. I'm unsure as to what this means. I was also told that her ocular movements are not full and her binocular functions are absent. The diagnosis was constant esompla and accemadatie element and (L) brown syndrome. As a parent i'm very concerned and a little confused to what this all means. Has anyone experienced anything like this who may be able to help? Please bear in mind the test today was carried our whilst wearing her glasses. Thank you.
