My daughter is 2 1/2 with Erb's Palsy

Hello I am new to blogging and new to having a child with a minor disability. My daughter was born with Erb's Palsy on 10/6/13 at California Hospital. The Dr. there was not supposed to be the one delivering my baby but he was called in at the last minute. I remember telling my boyfriend that I didn't like how that Dr. treated me and did not want him delivering my baby. Well the worst happened. I already knew it was a big baby so I was prepared to have a C-Section and 2 hours into labor I begged for a C-Section but I was told I could not have one. Now that same Dr. that told me I could not have a C-Section is telling his lawyers that he asked me if I wanted one but I told him no. I am suing that Dr. and it has been 2 1/2 years and still we haven't been to court. The Drs. lawyers keep delaying the court date. I don't know what to do. I don't make a lot of money but I want my daughter to live a normal life and go to a normal school. It is very difficult to find schools in my area that may cater to a child with this specific condition. Has anyone else gone through this? Any suggestions?

To settle lawsuit can take years and years. I was involved in a suit for over ten years when I was an L&D nurse. You cannot rely on that money. Request a copy of the nurses notes. If you were requesting a c-section, they should have documented it in there charting. I know I would have the first time mom mentioned it as L&D is an area of high litigation.
