My daughter is 4 years old and occasionally she wakes up at night with intense toe pain in both feet. I have observed this pattern always at night. She feels better with gentle message. However, My paediatrician calls it non-specific and doesn't have an answer for the same. Anybody experiencing the same or having any answer to this problem?

What's her diet like? Are her iron and potassium levels good? Deficiency in either of those, especially potassium, can cause very painful foot and leg cramps, notably at night.

If you haven't already got her bloods checked, I would advise it.

Bananas are a great source of potassium, in case that helps.

is she over weight? could it be diabetic neuropathy? could she be having gout?
