I just went to the doctors today for my daughter, shes been rubbing her eyes when shes around cats and the doctor ended up telling me shes allergic. The place where I'm staying for the time being has four cats living there. The doctor told me when she comes in to contact with a cat to wash her hands and change her clothes, same for the adults who would be picking my daughter up. Also we have to keep the cats out of the bedroom and to wash the sheets in her crib because the cats jump in there at night ( i remove them as soon as i see them in there) so i thought it would make it a little easier and safer to stay at my dads where there's no cats until we get a place. my boyfriend (her father) thinks its a stupid idea and I'm being over dramatic. Am i being over dramatic or am i doing the right thing? I'm my eyes i am. What do you guys think?

If you have another option for a place to stay, it's probably a good idea to go there. In addition to when you see the cats near her, the other issue is the cat hair and dander that's all over the place - I have a dog, and it gets everywhere.

My daughter has animal allergies and the itching and watery eyes can be miserable. You may also ask your pediatrician to recommend an allergy medicine (there's over the counter, but depending on your daughter's age, it might be better to ask) - she can take that before she goes to visit the house with the cats and lessen her reaction.
