yeah i told her about the party and she said she thought it was a fun idea and she would ask one of her guy friends if he thought it would be fun! but the thing is if i told her she couldn't she would just do it behind by back like she did before.

Personally, I just let my kids decide what they want in this instance. If they can't think of something they want enough, then they mustn't want a party that badly. In the past, they have mostly decided on pizza, movie and a sleepover with a few friends. But as I said, I see 12 years old as too young to have a boyfriend or girlfriend, so we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

Well, probably having a hang out party at home, where they have access to video games and a pool table, etc, could be fun, but it depends on the kids.

I also suggested go-karting and lasertag. But whatever.

With regard to the dance party, you'd have to ask her. In my experience, if some of these invitees are boys, the boys will hate it.

do you think that if we turned our basement into a dance party and had a wii and played music they would have fun?

but the point was she didt want to go bowling! or skating! i appreciate your suggestions but she wants to have a funn birthday party she will be a teen! at her age most kids hang out with boys and girls so they want them to go to their parties! the problem is my daughter wants to invite guys because the will make he party have less drama

But then, you could do something else fun, I've given plenty of suggestions. You've just chosen to ignore them all. Hope your daughter has a lovely birthday!

If you think your 12 year old is so mature, then why can't you trust her and her friends to go to the movies on their own without the boyfriends? Hmmm??

Just boyfriend and girlfriend. Right.....

And just for the record....no 12 year old is mature.

they are just boyfriend and girlfriend. but all these kids that are her friends are mature so thats our oppinions to let them be together. but they will not go on dates!

You allow your 12 year old to date boys? I think I will bow out here. I am clearly on a different planet.

Well, maybe if she wants to do more, she needs to earn the money to pay for it.....then she could do go-karting or lasertag - unless your budget is okay with those things too.

I don't see the issue with she and her friends going to the movies on their own either.
