My daughter is 5years old. She goes to pre school. Next year she is to start grade R but I feel she is lacking self confidence, she is slow. E.g. a child in her class, who is the same age can count and identify numbers clearly and she is struggling. Besides helping her at home, where can I get professional help, and I which professional can ghelp me help here.

When is her birthday? If she is a young pre-k? If she is struggling in all areas, consider repeating the grade. Or, let her proceed and see if she closes the gap on her own. There will always be kids more advanced and less advanced than your own child. Have you spoken to the teacher? Does the teacher have concerns about her ability now and to advance to the next grade? I don't think a tutor is the answer unless you child has one issue she struggles with, like she does fine in all areas but math. What does grade R mean?

She is in Gr R junior n going to Gr R senior next year. She is a June baby. She used to love creche but towards the end of the year she totally refused to go back to creche, so I changed schools. I don't think her current teacher has patience with her but I stand corrected.

GrR in South Africa is a preparation class before Gr 1.

If I were to consider tutoring, where do I begin abs how do I know itsv the right one for her.
