My daughter went to a small private school thru 8th grade then started Public High School where there are 1200 kids in the freshman class. In her private school she was confident, happy, very popular, and got A's and B's. Since starting HS she has ignored school, chosen the wrong friends, has major social anxiety and has started smoking pot. I am beside myself. This is not my daughter!!!! I am scheduling parent/teacher conferences, doctor appointments, not letting her go anywhere but letting her have people over while I am here. She told me smoking is no big deal and that it calms her down where she isn't as anxious. Addiction runs on both sides of our family so needless to say I am very worried. Help!!!!

I'm right there with you, Susie. I'm a single mom also and I understand fighting to get child support. But, the public schools here for my two boys are horrible and I couldn't send them there. So, private school is my only choice - at least to me. Can you see if the private schools in your area have a scholarship program? Most do. If they won't pay it in full, they may be able to pay for part of it.
