My daughters biological father abused me during my pregnancy broke my nose etc etc , I gave him the benefit of the doubt after I left the relationship when my daughter was three months old and let him be able to have visitation with her thinking he would do good by her... My daughter is six months old she came home today with lacerations on the back of her neck ..cuts and scrapes. Called the police, went to the hospital, and opened up a child protective report..I will be going to file for full custody tomorrow ...I was wondering ..is there going to be a way to completely cut him out of her life ? His mother and father has previous neglect charges, they have an extreme history of domestic violence and neglect.

Oh honey... I'm so sorry.

The only thing I can think of would be to file for full custody.. And document EVERYTHING. Every nasty comment he sends you, every mean voicemail, any threat. Call the biggest baddest lawyer you can afford and stomp the heck out of that jerk in court, and keep that baby safe.

The best of luck to you!

Supervised visitation would be very important. Request it be supervised by your local child protection agency since he has been abusive to you as well. If he has to go to the office and can only see her for an hour or so at a time, typical supervised visitation in my state, he will lose interest and you will get full custody that way. Good luck and don't stop advocating for yourself and your daughter.

If you can't have his parental rights terminated, you could petition the court to allow only supervised visitation. If you haven't already done so, I would highly suggest that you speak to a lawyer.

I just want to kick him out of her life forever ..or at least until she is able to defend her self. I am utterly disgusted with the situation. People like this should never have the ability to be a parent.

I'm so sorry to hear what happened, but I'm pretty sure you can have a restraining order put on him and have all rights taken away. I'm going through a divorce and wanted rights taken away and they said the only way a judge will rule that over is if there is abuse or the parent hasn't seen the child in over 6 months. Those are AZ laws though. You can call an attorney and verify just to make sure
