Generally... no. Typically your daughter will start 'around' the same time you did as a kid unless there are extenuating circumstances (like Jodi mentioned). I started my first period at a bit over 12. When my daughter started developing I could tell it was about a year younger than I did and.... yep, she got her first period at 11.5. Some kids ARE starting as young as 8-9 'just because' and some are starting as late as 16. I think 11-13 is fairly average.

It sounds like your daughter's cousin had precocious puberty, which is not common. It is unlikely your daughter will have the same issue.

Ummm..that is highly irregular. And if she did I would get her to the Dr ASAP!

Your daughter is her own self. I could see if a mom started early to have a concern but I doubt you need to be.
