My ultrasound showed that my baby girl has a calcium deposit in her heart which isn't dangerous but it is a marker for down syndrom. She said I have a 1 in 300 chance of my baby having it. Is this something that I should be worried about because I feel like I'm am going to throw up I'm freiking out so bad right now.

First things first, calm down and take a breath. I understand completely where you are coming from. My second child was found to have sacs in the brain area before the end of the 2nd trimester. As a result of this "marker", it was possible that my child could have been a downs child or worse. For four weeks the doctor told us the next worst case possible without worry for my mental and stress being pregnant. At the four week mark I demanded a new ultrasound. When we went in the doctor who ran that clinic did the ultrasound himself and found nothing. We lucked out. I was given the option to abort if the baby had been deformed and would not have had a quality of life of any kind. I was scared, nervous, unsure. So was the father.

The only thing you can do is wait until they can test to see if there is the chance. Usually an amniocentesis. And since this is a marker there is good chance your child will be born fine. Talk to your doctor and let him or her know your concerns and get some information about Downs children. I know they have a harder time with health issues and learning to be part of society but it can be done. I have seen a lot of them in my community holding down jobs and getting married even. There is always hope at the end of the tunnel. I hope I have helped.
