I'm with the rest on this.

He's singing! What an awesome way to express yourself! What an excellent skill to have! The rest of the family needs to come down out of whatever cloud house they've built, because they're a bunch of putzes. How dare they pick on someone for doing something that they enjoy, and that makes them feel happy?

No, you don't discourage him (unless, like Dove said, he's driving you batty by singing the same song over and over). Encourage his siblings, and other male relatives to get a life. Because if all they can do is pick on his singing, they must be bored...

So what's the problem ?

It can't really be that you are afraid your son is going to become to feminized by singing female artists songs ...can it?

Leave him be. I don't understand the problem with it.

A song is just a song in his eyes.

Why would you make your son stop singing? Granted, I make my little one stop (or sing in the bedroom with the door closed) when he's been singing the SAME thing over and over and driving me batty, but I don't even get the issue with him singing songs from female artists.

If I (or any other woman on the planet) sing along with a man singing on the radio... does that make me too 'masculine'? There is no issue here. Tell the older brother and the uncles if they don't like it THEY can go in another room.
