Why is she unfit? She is only unfit if she is potentially a danger to the children, and in that case, you need to contact Child Protection ASAP, not wait for a dragged out court case. If she is that unfit, you wouldn't want those children in that house for a moment longer than necessary. If she isn't a danger to the children, and they are not suffering abuse or neglect.....then really, you've got nothing.

How do you consider her unfit? Is it simply a difference of opinion on parenting styles? Or has she decided that you cannot have full access to her children? Is she a danger to the children? Does she drink excessively, do hard narcotics, live a bad life?

How is she unfit? Do you just not agree with her parenting style, or is she a danger to them?

Some states have grandparent laws, but some don't. Talk to a lawyer. You need to be prepared to completely alienate your daughter, and if you end up not getting custody at the end of it, she will probably keep you out of the children's lives completely. How much are you willing to lose?

First thing is to go see a lawyer. Most of them offer free consultations. They can give you information and help you figure out the first step! Good luck!
