My Grandson has now been living with me for about a month. He soon will be 19. He asked if his girlfriend could come over. I haven't met her yet. So I said sure and suggested we all could watch tv or rent a movie. He said no and that they're going to stay in his room. I said ok but no hanky panky in my house so please keep your door open. He said, what the ... , I'm 19, why? I said because this is my home and that's my choice not yours! I won't change my mind but would still appreciate some other opinions. Thx!

Your house, your rules. If he can't respect that he can move out on his own and make his own rules. I don't care how old a person is... I do not condone premarital sex in my house. Anyone that doesn't like it doesn't have to stay w/ me.

Yup, get what you're saying about all ages mature at different rates. My grandson thinks he knows ALL and way more than his stupid gma:( Not sure how much I can take at 70. Thanks for your input. Have a blessed day!

Oops, I totally misunderstood and thought you mean t they they wouldn't tell you. I'm nosy, but not that nosy. I really don't believe in that 19 is equal to 15 year stuff. Every person develops at their own pace. My youngest is almost 16, but MUCH more mature than my older 2 were at that age. In the end, though, as I said, you house. If he doesn't like the rules he is old enough to move out on his own.

I know why but just don't want to share. I love him but a 19 year old boy is equal to a girl of 15/16 in maturity:( Also, his girlfriend is only almost 17:(.

Just to be nosey, why on earth would you let him in your house without knowing why he was kicked out of his parent's home? *Shrug* either way, as you say, you are not going to change your mind, but I would not have an adult under my roof if I could not trust him to behave like one.

Yes but he got kicked out from his parents home but can't share the why and how come. Trust is already a big issue:(

It's your home, your rules. But at 19 I would take him at his word that nothing would happen and let them have the privacy of a shut door. He is an adult, after all.
