my husband and i live in a remote location. he is away at sea 5 months a year. we have an 8 month old and a 3 year old. when he is home he spends weekends in another city visiting his teenage kids. he stays with his brother and they usually end up drinking every saturday night as he cant make it home due to the ferrries. i am resentful and lonely and feel it is unfair we live on this godforsaken island.,

:( Wow! Well I would talk to him about how you feel. It's not fair that he doesn't spend his time that he has off with you & the kids. Why can't he bring his teenagers home & do a visit with the "WHOLE" family?! If he's never home than why can't you move closer to a support system for you. My old sitter's husband was gone with the coast guard 1/2 the year and he made sure she was close to family & people she knows.
