My husband wants to plans weekend activities with other families. Makes me call everyone and at the last minute gets into some kind of bad mood and cancels all the plans. He then expects me to call everyone to go ahead because he ins not interested anymore. He doesn't even care how excited my kids are but is a very loving father otherwise. I have to either go without him and face the embarrassment or not go all together and face the embarrassment later. How can I avoid getting into this situation and still be able to do fun things with my kids.

Stop making plans with everyone else. If he wants to make weekend plans with other families... let HIM make the arrangements... and the cancellations. You just plan fun stuff to do with your kids on your own and if he's not in a mood.... he can join you.

Or if you want to make plans with other families... go ahead and have fun and he can join or not. How is it embarrassing for YOU? If he's been doing this for a while all the people you make plans with are probably used to it. Just go and have fun and let him either get out of his bad mood and come.... or not.
