Starting the day earlier can definitely help. Many people aren't hungry as soon as they get up because it takes time for them to be fully awake. And there's no need to limit your kids to traditional breakfast foods if they will eat other healthy things in the morning.

I wouldn't do breakfast drinks. It's a bad habit to get into. A lot of those drinks are high in sugar, and the body doesn't recognize liquid calories the same as calories from food. Meal replacement drinks really aren't ideal.

Our kids don't typically eat breakfast....

They're slow to start in the morning, and school begins early for them. They suffer more from not enough sleep than lack of food so they usually aren't up in time to eat a full meal. They sometimes eat something small while they're walking to school (half a peanut butter sandwich, half a banana, half an apple, babybel cheese, etc), but not always.

In our case, I don't worry about because they always have a snack at school between 8:30am and 9am, and lunch is at 11:25am. In the summer and on the weekend we often do brunch instead of breakfast and lunch.

its the time they leave home really early for school but they drink a cup off warm chocolate tea before they leave for school

Chet is correct about the breakfast drinks. They are high calorie. I was advised to give them to my youngest due to her having a BMI of 12.1, and not wanting to eat at all or choosing low calorie foods instead. They are not a good fit for everyone.

Is it the breakfast food or the time of day? If it is because they are still sleep and not hungry, try waking them 15 minutes earlier. Or, try something like Carnation Instant Breakfast. It comes in a bunch of flavors and can be served warm or cold. That way they would get something in their belly in the morning.
