The doctor just tells me he will talk in his own good time. We have had to pay for a speech therapist as we have not had much support in this area. He communicates via signing and PECS and can use an ipad better than me...he just does not seem inclined to use his voice. It makes relationships with his peers very difficult and we are worried that he will become isolated.

My friend's son has DS and is either 4 or 5 right now. He doesn't talk either. I don't know how usual or unusual it is, but he is under the care of many doctors and therapists for all his issues. What does your son's doctor say about it?
