I went in the other day to have it removed since it wasn't helping to regulate my cycles....Not only did it not regulate but between cycles, i spotted. in the end, i've worn a pad daily for the past 10 months. Anyways, They went in to take it out and pulled the string out. could not get the mirena itself out. then they said, it obviously shifted and connected to my uterine wall. NOW something that has just hit me is. I don't even know how long its been shifted out of its place. so it doesn't cover the areas it should. on top of that, i have been so sick to my stomach morning to night, breast have gotten bigger and perked up and i've been so emotional its unreal....Now, i'm wondering if I'm pregnant. And in less than a month i'm going in for a hysterectomy....hmmm. I actually think i'm going to buy a pregnancy test tomorrow morning....would love a wonderful surprise, but am scared of being pregnant with the mirena in me still letting off all these hormones that the doctor said "my body can't handle" or is it because of the Mirena i'm this emotional...happy late 40th birthday to me....Wish me luck. Has anyone else been through this? I could really really use some insight here

i did take 2 pregnancy tests which both came back negative. i just started another round of Aunt Martha, so, i'm pretty certain i'm not pregnant....me getting ready to start could be the reason for my emotional state...i was told the hormones in the mirena obviously dont agree with my body and thats why i'm feeling the way i'm feeling and breasts are tender to the touch and firmer and sick to my stomach...well? if this is the reason for all of these issues, i can't wait to be Aunt Martha free.

this is why i don't like the mirena D: you need to have an ultrasound done as soon as possible. that will confirm what has happened to the implant and also whether you are pregnant or not. the problem with getting pregnant while using the mirena is that you are at a much higher risk for miscarriage, especially if they try to remove it. so get that ultrasound and i'll be thinking of you. your surgery is on my birthday so yeah, i really hope that everything is okay and that nothing goes wrong for you :(
