My name is Kelly and I am a mother of a 2 year old, 3 year old and 5 year old. One is biologically mine, the other two are not. I have recently have begun to have a hard time with the 3 year old.

She was fully potty trained once she moved in with her father and I, but once she got here, she began to pee in her panties, pee in the bed, and even sometimes poop in her panties. It is now kind of getting to the point where it is really frustrating because she will literally just sit there and pee and then tell us that she peed. It is almost like she does not care. I am really confused as to what I should do. I have never dealt with anything like this. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Maybe you're looking at it the wrong way, look at it from a 3 year olds perspective. It sounds like her living situation is relatively new. A 3 year old doesn't have much control over what's going on in their life and is forced to go along with whatever is happening in her parents lives, but it sounds like she's realized she can control when and where she can go to the bathroom. I don't necessarily have an answer on how to fix it but thought if you looked at it from her perspective you might not get as frustrated with her. Maybe try giving her more choices about other things do she can feel like she has a day, ie let her decide what to do for a family fun day, let her choose the clothes she wears, let her help decide what's for dinner.....good luck

Thanks for your input! I really appreciate it :) It definitely is a work in progress for us. Just knowing that she is in a relatively new environment, I expect there to be some regression; however, I would anticipate that after 2 months of being here that she might pick back up where she left off before she came here.. I could be totally wrong though as I know each toddler progresses differently.
I will take into consideration what you said!! :) Thanks!
