I cant do the cry it out method - just doesn't seem natural to let your baby scream for you and not be there.
I hold her when she wakes up and give her some water and sing till she goes back to sleep.
Can any one advise on the next step to gently get her to sleep without me, that doesn't involve leaving her to cry?
My older daughter took till 22 months using this method, to sleep through, but then she was only waking twice in the night so it was more manageable.
Thanks xx

I have a 10 month old she still wakes up once or twice a night. Use to be ever 3 hours until i changed her naps. I have her napping only in the afternoon 11:30 or 12:00 and she goes to bed at 6:30 or 7:00. Some ppl think if they keep the baby up later that they will sleep better but this actually has an opposite affect. Earlier is better. I too do not let my baby cry, she's crying for a reason. But since I've changed her sleeping routine she sleeps until 3:00am or 5:00am so much better. Also they say when your baby wakes up at night to limit how much you talk to them. I change her diaper give her a bottle and hold her until she's asleep again.
