My newborn pushes off the breast in discomfort

My 3 week old baby seems not to be able to sleep lying down anymore. He seems to always want to be in an upright position. We put him down on his back when he falls asleep only to find him being woken up within a minute by some sort of discomfort like gas or reflux. He also cannot feed well. He has about 5 mins and then pushes off in discomfort. Help please or should I take him to the doctors?

It is probably reflux. J had it when he was an infant and our doctor recommended allowing him to sleep in his swing, which held him in a more upright position, thus keeping the tummy acid down in the tummy where it belongs. They also make wedges that go into the bassinet on top of the mattress, but under the sheet. We had one, but J always just slid down to the bottom of it during his sleep, so it was rather useless.

I would still take him to the doctor just to be sure it is nothing serious.
