My little one has very sensitive skin and constantly breaks out in rashes. She also does have mild congestion on a consistent basis so now that she's 6 months my pediatrician prescribed Claritin.. At first I didn't question the decision but how drowsy it makes her is starting to bother me. She's not as active as she was before.. She's constantly sluggish and sleepy.. I've only given her the reccomended dosage. Her symptoms have subsided.. I guess I'm wondering if this is a normal practice giving babies allergy medicine? And so they ever get used to it?

Geesh, that sounds like all good reasons to stop giving it. Call your pediatrician with your concerns. I would never think to give Claritan that young.
