She tells my dad yes, she finished her pretzel (because she was headed to the room & she's not allowed to eat in her room) and she had not!
Then this morning I asked her if she had put her lunch money in her envelope in her folder and she said yes & she had not.
I'm concerned and frustrated and sad all at the same time.
Any advice?

Thanks You, that's very true. Sometimes I have to stop and remember that she IS indeed 7! I think I should be more understanding that she might not COMPLETELY understand me. I appreciate your honesty!

Explain that she needs to actually do what she's saying that she's doing.

One point, however: On the pretzel...Perhaps she was finished eating, so in her mind 'done', when in your mind (or dad's) 'done' means finished and cleaned up after?

She's 7. At this stage, you should still be looking behind her to make sure that she actually did do what she said (especially with lunch money, etc). And working towards her being able to do these things without you following behind her. She still needs some assistance, though. You can't expect her to perfectly remember everything you'd like her to do at this point.
