Thank you for the reply and advise
He knew the pasword and email for Facebook.even though he didn't download it himself i feel lying about it is wrong..
I was just concerned of this behaviour not use to him lying his a top student and sports boy sudenly the change in him got me concerned.
I got devorced 2years ago and this January i moved to a nother city was concerned it could be because of the changes in his life.his grades and sports are still perfek only his behaviour that concern me

Lying about his age, is normal, no ok but normal. The Facebook incident, since it was in his name and he knew about it in some manner whether he was the instigator or not warrants discipline. I agree your house, your rules. If dad wants to be able to call him then leave the phone out where it can be answered when dad calls; otherwise no use of phone. This all sound like typical 10yo behavior to me.

What makes you think he was lying when he said it wasn't him that downloaded Facebook? As you said, he said his friends did it....maybe they did? This sounds like the type of thing kids this age might do.

With regard to the phone, while your son is in your house, his father can't dictate to you what is done with the phone unless it is in your court orders. If you, as a parent, feel the need to remove it while he is in your care, you are within your rights to do so as long as his father has another way to contact him (eg. through your phone). Your house, your rules.

He will lie about his age..telling every one his older.he lied about Facebook. I don't allow Facebook his to small he and his friends loaded Facebook on his name i asked he lied said it wasn't him after i found out he downloaded it.
I wary about him is this normal .i had i talk with him but he just say ok I'm sory but the lying goes on.i took away his playstation and tv for a few days.it didn't help.the only reason he has a fone is his father won't let me take it for he bought it we are devorced

What does he lie about? Kids lie for several reasons; to get out of work or chores, to get out of trouble, to make themselves seem more grandiose, and out of pure laziness.
So what sort of lying are you dealing with? What have been the consequences for lying?
