It means you now have answers. Just because he now has a diagnosis does not mean he has changed. What it does mean is that you now have answers to how he is and why. It is a start to a new beginning. Google the word, talk to your son, seek out counseling.

If he's made it to 22 years w/out a diagnosis it's clearly not too severe. I'm curious what prompted either of you to seek a diagnosis at this point. He could potentially benefit from some counseling depending on what his particular struggles are, but unless he has also been declared mentally incompetent... any therapies would be up to him to seek... or not.
