I have a 22 year old and worry about him but trust him enough to be careful and I had a 24 years old who died last year, live is to short let him live it, but just ask him to be careful and to think before he does anything xxxxx

Well, he's an adult. Do you need to know everything about his life? Did you tell your parents everything about your life after you reached adulthood?
Seriously! If he's living in your home, then common courtesy dictates that he treat the rest of the household with respect, but sharing every single detail about his life is pushing. And you are pushing, if you're wanting him to still tell you everything like he did when he was 5.
Perhaps he's trying to tell you that he's uncomfortable with the level of your involvement, now that he's reached the age of majority!
