my youngest will be 2 in 8 days and he talks, but he does not talk alot. only when he wants to. alot of people cant understand him when he does. and my mother in law is constantly telling me how i need to get him into speech therapy. my middle child was the same way when it came to talking, and he has no problem talking now. she also hounded me about putting him in speech therapy, which i did not do, and he turned out just fine. just work with him on it. constantly talk to him and try to get him to say things. he will talk when he is ready. and if none of these comments make you feel better, or you feel something is wrong, go to the doctor. ask for a hearing test, that could be his problem, though i believe he just isnt ready. go with your gut. your the mom and you know your child better than anyone else does.

About your son who is not talking yet. I have a 2 year old son turning 3 in December, which is around the corner. He only started talking recently. So I would not worry if I were you, they say boys are lazier than girls. Some babies takes longer than others to talk or to potty train or walking. And if you have older kids it will also take some time for the younger one to talk, because the older kids will know what the younger one wants and usually will tell the parent before the younger one has the chance to ask for it him or her self, therefore it will take a longer period for the younger child to talk. My daughter age 7 now, started talking when she was one years old. She also started to potty train at one years old where my son is potty training now. Almost 3 years old. So I would say that you should not worry now. It is still very early for you to worry about your son not talking yet.
