I would say she means truanting. That's what I assumed anyway. I've heard it referred to as bunked before.

I dropped him off at school at 7am but he never went to class. He and a friend went around the school block and hid away. Than the school called me at 9am to say my children wasnt in school. However he was found hidding in the school grounds toilet with his friend. He could not give me a direct answer as to why he had done it.

I'd also like to know how the school manages these issues before issuing punishment myself at home. I know, for instance, if my son is late to class, or misses class altogether, he'd receive detention to make up the time. For some kids, that is enough of a consequence in itself. It really depends.

I say, unless he has a *really* good reason (like being intensely bullied) punish him in some manner, like the loss of ALL privileges, for a month. And/or doing a lot of extra chores. Maybe even chores for neighbors.
